ABOUT ME
MICHAEL TYLER

Background and Values
I am a Christian, husband, father, veteran, farmer and life time conservative Republican. I served 28 years in the U.S. Army and chose to retire in Ouachita county. My wife and I settled into our community and decided this would be our forever home. I am without reservation a strong supporter and advocate for the sanctity of life, individual freedom and liberty by a limited government, strong national defense, equal and just enforcement of the law, and the right to bear arms.
My Experience
While in the military, I served in a multitude of leadership positions where I managed large complex budgets, personnel, and equipment throughout the world always ensuring everything was on time and on target. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters Degree in Human Relations along with Graduate Certificates in Human Resource Diversity and Development and in Helping Skills in Human Relations. I also graduated from Coker University in Hartsville SC with a Bachelors in Business Administration.
After the Military and settling in Ouachita County, I have served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter at Frenchport Volunteer Fire Department. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Frenchport Volunteer Fire Department, Frenchport Water Association, Farm Bureau, and Ouachita County Republican Party Committee. In 2023, I was elected to the County Board of Elections as a Republican Commissioner and currently serve as a Justice of the Peace for District 3.
MISSION STATEMENT
It is my goal to balance the county budget, clean up our community, and prioritize street repairs throughout the county. I am committed to managing our counties limited resources with transparency and integrity.
